For those of you who were dismayed at the closing of The Founderie (me! me!) I have good news. Owner Shelah McClymont has partnered with KIND Soap Company- 20 Allen Ave 63119 to open a pop up version of The Founderie featuring the local, handmade goods you know and love! ” A mutual small business owner suggested that KIND owner Jean Scholtes and I collaborate on a way to bring a curated collection of handmade goods to her shop,” explains McClymont. “After a couple of meetings, the idea was born!” The pop up will run from April through the end of summer, with plans to bring back new items for a holiday run this fall.
McClymont has carefully selected her merchandise from local artists. “All of our current makers are from the St. Louis area. We are offering handmade and independently produced jewelry, prints, bags, garden markers and more,” she said. Those unique wares are what made The Founderie a standout in a sea of retail mass merchandising. It quickly became a go-to spot for that special something you won’t find everywhere else. And KIND Soap is the perfect place to display them, “We hope that KIND can now be your one stop shop for natural body care and one-of-a-kind gifts in Webster Groves!”
And the pop up isn’t the only thing on McClymont’s busy schedule, she is getting ready to launch a brand new product line next month called Faire Acres. The line includes stamped leather goods, coffee mugs, hats and t-shirts. Faire Acres will be available at KIND and other local area boutiques starting this summer.
