The family that creates together, stays together! This has certainly proven true with one local family- Nicki, Ali and Lauren Berry are a entrepreneurial triple threat. I was recently invited to their St. Louis based workspace to witness their operations first hand. Color me impressed! You can feel the energy when you walk in the door. Each family member radiates enthusiasm while talking about their personal projects.
Nicki Berry, mom to daughters Ali, Lauren (and Kristin who lives in NYC) is the owner of Berry Studio, specializing in custom made pillows, window treatments and bedding. She works closely with local interior designers to make clients dream rooms a reality. There were several projects in the works during my visit and I couldn’t stop drooling over a stack of gorgeous bed pillows waiting to go to their new home!
Ali Berry, is the force behind “BaileyRayDenim”, a line of made to order repurposed denim shorts sold on Etsy: click here These shorts are literally flying off the shelves! Ali was busy filling orders while she walked me through her design process. After buying used denim in bulk (she has to look outside St. Louis where she cleaned out the market of Levis), Ali hand cuts each pair into shorts, then adds details like embroidery, bows or even four different hem options. These shorts are made by hand with an average of 25 pairs day shipping all over the country. Here’s a peek at BaileyRayDenim:
Lauren Berry is the originator of “Shop Lauren Berry” a line of darling skirts and shorts also sold on Etsy: click here Each piece is handmade by Lauren from fabric lines like Lily Pulitzer, with an elasticized waist and details such as a scalloped hem. So, so cute! Here is a sneak peek at Lauren Berry’s line:
The Berry family is living proof that hard work plus a great idea can truly turn dreams into reality. One visit to their Etsy shops will have you coming back for more! Happy shopping friends!
