It’s the hap-happiest season of all!  That’s right friends, St. Louis Fashion Week 2014 came, saw and conquered!  It was an unprecedented week of shows, events and presentations. An outstanding job was done by the staff at ALIVE magazine, whose hard work really paid off. New this season was the venue, St. Louis Union Station, and wow! It was an absolutely perfect set up!

My favorite show of the week?  The Emerging Designer Competition, presented by Brown Shoe Co. Six designers from across the country competed for a chance to win $15,000 PLUS five local designers vied for a $2,500 prize.  I love this show because the creativity always blows me away. The looks were original and gorgeous!  I am glad I was not on the judging panel because it would have been a very difficult decision. The winners were Daniella Kallmeyer out of NYC and Truly Alvarenga, respectively. A fun twist on the evening included a surprise runner up award for Charles Harbison, whose line literally made people cheer when it came down the runway!  (His pants with a ruffle at the top were AH-MAZING!)
