I mentioned in an earlier post how thrift store shopping can really pay off with some great finds. The drawback to this type of shopping however, is that in order for it to be effective, you have to do it regularly. You can’t just visit one store once in a while. A good technique is to choose a few stores you like and visit them on a rotating basis. We all have time for that, right? What? You just snort laughed out loud, didn’t you? Well, snort no more!
There is a way for those of us who want to thrift store shop, but you know, would prefer to do so at night. After work. And from our couch. Maybe while drinking a glass of wine…. But I digress. Here it is: http://www.shopgoodwill.com TA-DA!!! That’s right friends, the thoughtful folks at Goodwill are reading your book! They have scoured the country looking for the best finds from individual stores. The items are photographed and put up for auction on this site. It’s like a bargain basement ebay!
This site is such a hidden gem. Everything is on here from vintage Christmas ornaments to Coach shoes. It’s addicting! Personally, I am constantly on the hunt for items to go in my house. You can find lots of that here! Below are some fabulous things I found this weekend:
Friends, these items are priced way, way, way low. The vase shown above was priced at $41.00, the rug at $9.95 and the painting at $17.00!!! Hello! It’s enough to make Mr. M very nervous. He likes to stress that “Yes, it is a good deal, but not if you buy ten of them!” Ha! What does he know?
In addition to scoring a bargain, you can feel good knowing that your purchases will benefit Goodwill’s education, training and job placement programs for people with disabilities. It’s a HANTASTIC deal all around! So take a look and let me know what you find!
